Coat Type: Short, Harsh, and Bristly with characteristic wrinkles, especially around the face and shoulders.

Coat Colors: Black, Red, Cream, Blue, Fawn, Chocolate. The Shar Pei's short coat comes in a variety of solid colors that highlight its distinct folds.

Temperament: Loyal, Reserved, Independent. While naturally calm and quiet, Shar Peis are extremely devoted to their families and often wary of strangers, making them excellent watchdogs.

Energy Level: Moderate. They enjoy daily walks and low-key playtime but do not require excessive exercise.

History: The Shar Pei dates back over 2,000 years in China, where it was bred for hunting, guarding, and even fighting. Its loose, wrinkled skin helped protect it in combat. Once nearly extinct, it was revived in the 20th century and has since become a beloved and recognizable breed worldwide.
